Since January 1, 2006, the DTF (Direct Access Physical Therapy) is applicable, allowing the patient to go to a physical therapist without a referral.
It is important that the patient has a supplementary healthcare insurance. Physical therapy is not always reimbursed from the basic healthcare insurance. There are major differences in the number of treatments that will be reimbursed between different insurance companies. If you do not have a supplementary healthcare insurance, you must pay the treatments yourself.
